Police in Tuggeranong

More needs to be done to stop crime in Tuggeranong.

The ACT has the lowest number of police per capita and the lowest police funding per capita in Australia.

Since 2010, ACT Labor has gradually starved our police of resources, resulting in 75 fewer frontline officers today.

Tuggeranong has grown, but our police numbers have not.

Our police are doing the best they can, but with such limited resources they cannot be everywhere they are needed.

Sign the petition to provide more support to the police in Tuggeranong.

School Chaplains

Schools should be allowed to choose who supports their students.

Chaplains help thousands of students and teachers each year by providing educational, emotional and spiritual support. The ACT Government is banning chaplains from schools despite the program being fully funded by the Federal Government.

Canberra schools have the worst rate of violence against students, teachers and principals in the nation. Academic results continue to decline with many schools overcrowded and in desperate need of maintenance. Read more about it here.

At this time of crisis, we should be putting more resources into schools, not taking them away.

Weekend Bus Services

Canberra deserves a well-connected transport network.

Weekend bus services are in chaos.

There have been more than 2,482 weekend service failures reported since the overhaul of the bus network.

It is unfair that passengers are left stranded at bus stops, sometimes for over an hour, unsure if and when their bus will show up, and are still expected to pay for these services.

Canberrans deserve better.

Sign the petition to fix weekend bus services.

Stop the Rates Rises

Canberrans are being ripped off.

The rates increases are unfair. Whilst rates, taxes, fees and charges continue to rise, the quality of local services continues to decline.

The current Government is refusing to acknowledge they are gouging Canberrans with their unfair policies.

“Rates have gone up every year in the history of Canberra,
and they will go up every year into the future.”
Andrew Barr, Chief Minister

This is unacceptable.

The Canberra Liberals will freeze rates for the entire first term of government if elected next year, but Canberrans need relief sooner.

Sign the petition to call on the government to stop the rates increases.
